Gobi makes things to explore and test opportunities in experiences, designs and technologies
December 8th 1999. Watched by an audience of 6.5 million, the Moving Brands founders demonstrated their prototype streaming technology ‘LiveTX’, by making the world’s first remote web broadcast via satellite, from the Gobi Desert.
Gobi embodies our spirit of imagination, exploration and making. We work between London, New York and San Francisco.
For Mobile World Congress 2017, we built the Wonderwall, Intel’s vision of the 5G world – Guy
We worked with 2LK for three months to build the Wonderwall, a physical manifestation of the power of 5G. The harmonious movement of the pins that made up its 30m x 6m surface expressed the seamless connectivity of the 50 billion devices they represent. In a continuous stream of images and words, the pins told concise 5G stories that grabbed the attention of the passerby and attracted them into the Intel space.
Prototyping to design an energy-efficient 'responsive skin' for Stella's flagship store.
We worked with Ben at Stella on the design of the façade for the flagship Stella McCartney store in Beijing.
Through prototyping, we worked out how a low energy single axis rotation of the diamond-shaped facets could shift with the changing moods of natural light. The result was ‘Diamond Sky’ – enticing, cost effective and in keeping with McCartney’s environmental ethos.
Combining glass, plywood and imagination, we made a one-off, rocking table that gave people a playful way to interact with Helvar’s highly sophisticated lighting.
We've worked with different BBC teams testing new technologies, creating proofs of concept and building all kinds of prototypes.
Brakit is the result of a few weeks prototyping to put an end to the ugliness of brackets.
Brakit is simple, sustainable and cost-effective. It gives you infinite options; the ability to create bespoke furniture and objects or configure ultra-practical storage. It makes furniture fit.
